Orders in Invisible Ink
An Assassin on the Siege Fleet
The party traveled by boat toward an unidentified city under siege. During the voyage, they stopped an assassin attempting to kill an officer and discovered apparently blank papers among the attacker's possessions.
Heat revealed invisible writing: a hit list containing many of the siege operation's leaders and a location where the assassin was expected to meet people connected to Nist. The party questioned the captive, then accelerated toward the meeting point.
The Sabotage Plot
Gunpowder at the Docks
At the rendezvous, the party learned that the conspirators planned to destroy the docks when the allied army's boats arrived. Such an attack could have crippled the landing before the siege properly began.
The group intercepted the accomplices inside a church dedicated to an unnamed goddess of darkness. They knocked the conspirators unconscious and seized hundreds of pounds of gunpowder intended for the attack.
A Different Explosion
The Barracks Diversion
Rather than allow the powder to be used against the fleet, the party turned it into a distraction. They destroyed the town barracks, drawing attention away from the approaching allied force.
The diversion succeeded in covering the arrival, but it did not leave the allies alone outside the walls. Thieson's forces had also reached the city to conduct their own siege.
Where We Left Off
Eight Paladins at the Gates
With two besieging forces present and fighting underway, the palace gates opened. Eight paladins stood revealed as the palace's defenders.
The identity of the city, the paladins' order, the relationship between the two armies, and the outcome of the siege remain unknown.
