Harak's Request

At last in Stachti, the party spotted Miska and the Hand Lady and learned that both worked for Harak. The pair discussed a funeral that might have been Sevro's, though the party could not be certain.

In the war council room, Harak asked the group to seek the Prophet in the realm of the dead and learn what lay ahead in the coming war. Lioness, whom they met at the council, helped them begin the journey through the realm of dreams.

A Path for the Living

The god of dreams welcomed the travelers and let them rest, then fell asleep himself. With their host unavailable, the party turned to a sheep for directions. Its advice to Nox was unexpected: dig beneath the clouds. Below, they found the path into the land of the dead.

Minysol, the god of medicine and messages, told them to follow the river at a crossroads and to cross only with the ferryman. Hiding as they passed the gathered dead, the party reached the Styx, paid for passage, and found the path again on the far bank.

The Long Way to the Throne

When the path ended, Sophirus heard hammering, a harp, and animals in the distance. The hammer seemed a promising guide to the underworld's ruler, but it led instead to Phohi, god of the forge. More directions followed from a man on a bench; Kalliphanes, god of beauty, love and vengeance; Muopnei, god of music; and Nikoryth, god of war, until the travelers emerged onto another path.

Minysol appeared again with a warning about a young god ahead. At a bridge, that god, possibly Misthkos, asked the party to question the Prophet about how he had died. His identity remained uncertain, and they continued without firmly accepting the request.

Strings Converging on War

Elycia, goddess of death, received the party in a throne room and required a favor before allowing them to see the Prophet. They accepted and descended to ask their questions.

The answer offered no simple victory: many strings converged on the war, with countless deaths, a hole in the desert, thousands drowning in sand, and a woman on a throne. The woman's identity and the meaning of the vision remained unclear.

A Warning Brought Home

On the return journey, Minysol supplied roots to help the party wake. An old foe of Hector was also revived, adding another complication to their return. Back with Harak, the group delivered the Prophet's warning and agreed to assist him in the war.
